2. Information We Collect
Account information: When you register, we collect your email address, full name (optional), and phone number (optional).
Scan data: URLs you submit for scanning. We do not store the content of websites you scan beyond what is necessary to generate your report.
Report delivery: If you purchase a paid report, we may collect your email address and phone number to deliver results.
Usage data: Basic server logs including IP addresses, browser type, and pages visited, retained for up to 30 days for security purposes.
Communications: Messages sent through our contact form.
3. How We Use Your Information

- To perform security scans and generate reports on your behalf
- To deliver paid reports and send transactional emails (e.g., password reset, report delivery notifications)
- To send monitoring alerts if you have enabled scheduled scans

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.
4. AI Processing
Our AI-powered features send anonymised scan data (URLs, security findings, performance metrics) to OpenAI's API to generate written reports and recommendations. This data is processed in accordance with OpenAI's privacy policy. We do not send your personal account details (name, email) to OpenAI.
5. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on servers hosted at DigitalOcean. We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures including:
- All passwords are hashed using bcrypt — we never store plain-text passwords
- HTTPS encryption for all data in transit
- HTTP-only cookies for authentication tokens
- Regular database backups
6. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Scan reports are retained for 12 months from creation unless you request earlier deletion. You may request deletion of your account at any time by contacting us.
7. Cookies
We use a single authentication cookie to keep you logged in. This cookie is HTTP-only, secure, and contains no personal information. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics cookies.

9. Acceptable Scanning Policy
By using our scanning service, you confirm that you own or have explicit written permission to security-scan every URL you submit. Scanning websites without permission may be illegal in your jurisdiction.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users by email of any material changes. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
